Low Tide 6 is poetically dedicated to the culmination of Chechen separatist leader Movsar Barayev’s commitment “to die, not to survive,” a wish fulfilled through his death at the hands of the Spetsnaz by bullets and gas while holding 700 hostages within Moscow’s House of Culture for the State Ball Bearing factory. This dedication leads to a one-page gag comic in which a character discovers the material pumping through his shower pipes is not water but Zyklon B. Story fragments progress, all containing a similar vein of weird military fiction and glimpses into vast worlds.
